I am finally starting a project I have been meaning to do for some time. Over time, I've blogged in various places -- LiveJournal, the AnimeOnDVD.com forums, etc. Now that I have my own permanent blogging space, I've wanted to pull all those posts and place them under this one location. I'll post them under their original dates and times, but occasionally, I'll bubble up ones under a "Reflections" post, either as a full repost or just linking to them.

Been a few months since last visiting this topic, but I've finally sat down and watched the Evangelion movies. Death turned out to be a decent recap of the series despite its frantic jumping about the time line. Each main character and plot point was touched upon and serves its purpose well enough. Rebirth was a good teaser for End of Evangelion but given the hype around the series probably wasn't needed.

The director's cut of Evangelion episodes 21 - 24 are now behind me; final thoughts on the series follow.

After a weekend marathon, I have finally seen the original version of Evangelion (episodes 16 - 26); time for some thoughts before diving into the director's cut episodes.

First disc is in the can; small disclaimer, this is not meant to be a review of the individual disc. This is merely a stream of consciousness note taking about what I think so far.

After reviewing for a few years now, it is high time for a bit of an experiment and give you, the readers, a chance to be a part of my reviewing process. While this would not work for a single volume review, I just so happen to have a box set or two on my review pile that should suit what I have in mind. Once I have finished watching a disc of the set, I will eschew my normal medium of paper for jotting down my immediate thoughts, emotions, etc. about the content and will instead post them here for all to view and discuss.
