So...What's the background on these Lupin III Jr. comics? When were the originally published? And how many chapters and/or Volumes did they run?

A funny journal entry I just posted on my DeviantArt involving a bit of Lupin trivia.

Really? I had no idea about that. I only got to read Vol. 1 because a friend of mine let me borrow it. Would love to get the WMW series.
The character in question appears in Vol. 4.  But I should warn you that the quality's a lot less consistent in WMW than the first series.

I remember reading that they ran between the first series and WMW(EDIT: according to LEP it began in 1978).  It was aimed at a younger audience than the main series, and Monkey Punch hated working on it.  He was glad to see it end.
Although you may wanna take that with a grain of salt, since I read it online in an interview years ago, which I can't find anywhere.

EDIT 2: Not the interview I was looking for, but here's A translated snippet of Monkey Punch being interviewed by Cutie Honey creator Go Nagai

I totally just bought the 1'st Lupin III Jr. Issue. I would have bought the 2'nd also if they seller let me combine shipping. But alas. $14.00 shipping per Issue is just too much. I'm not in the financial position right now to spend $40.00. But $20.00 I could stretch.

Look forward to scans when it arrives.

Cool! I can't wait to see what it's like.  :D

I've always wondered why Monkey Punch didn't like the series that much anyway, so this will be a good way to find out.^^

Often caught but never held for long, Lupin III brought the gentleman-thief into this century with his hi-tech antics and old-world charm.
