Lupin Steal Japan Project(?)
« on: November 28, 2009, 12:19:50 pm »
http://steal-japan.jp/

I just saw this on the official site. It asks you a question and you have to type in the window, but my Japanese isn't that good so I can't read all of it. Does anyone know what it could be?

I have no clue. Are they maybe hinting at the 2010 special?

From what I can figure out it says something like "What does Lupin want to steal?" Can't say for sure though.

I was just talking about this with my friend! I don't know all the details (but will be digging soon because it sounds awesome) but apparently it's some sort of joint media/government/TMS project to boost economic moral. All you do is go to that website and type in what YOU'D want Lupin to steal, and apparently they're going to go over it, pick the coolest one and have him actually steal it in real life - with Zenigata going after him. But don't quote me on this lol, this is just what my friend was telling me over the phone.

I think those are now what people have suggested this far. I remember them mentioning something like this being updated on Dec 1st, when I glanced through some japanese blogs about the site.

I remember something mentioned about February 28th too. Maybe it was deadline or something. I used so many webtranslators with my poor japanese skills, so I didn't get much certain facts dug up (I hate how I can't do much without furigana :c) . Sound like job for someone with reliable japanese skills *hint hint @anyone* . Anyways, this whole campaing was pretty strictly linked with Mixi.jp, japanese online community where foreigners have not much of an access.

^I'll get on translating that as soon as I finish this stupid paper :(

Anywhoo-diddly-doo, I did some searching it seems as though the deadline was earlier today, and that it's already been decided what he's going to steal as his "notice" has already been put up. But I was right when I said Lupin was going to steal something fo realz. It's essentially going to be an unfolding plot which will go on until the 28th. As for Zenigata, the Japanese police will be coopering with him in catching Lupin (lols). There will be blog updates via Mixi, so it seems like that invite I have will finally have some use xD

Lupin's "notices" went up in Shibuya last night I totally burst out laughing when I saw what they picked.

Often caught but never held for long, Lupin III brought the gentleman-thief into this century with his hi-tech antics and old-world charm.

Very cool, I can't wait, a 2010 Lupin special should be awesome.  8)

And that music on the site is indeed awesome, anyone know if it's from a released soundtrack?
