...and there's virtually no difference between Goemon's normal look and his "I'm concerned" look. 

And this is any different from the anime...how? ;)

It was more in the fact that you can at least watch his face get a little more concerned in the anime.  They'd switched back and forth between normal and concerned a few times before I caught the difference. 

And as it turns out, I'm not done.  Using the walkthrough to clear up some of the IQ puzzles that I couldn't guess, I've unlocked another level in the Paradox residence.

Still making my way through it.  I've found a somewhat helpful site here:

It's got a walkthrough for all the levels(including ones I haven't found yet), and while it doesn't tell you how to solve the IQ challenges, it does let you know what they want you to do.

And the Fujiko suntan oil game isn't a hidden minigame.  It's one of the IQ challenges.  Unfortunately, whatever it is she wants you to do(rub her lower back and side are two of them), where she wants you to rub is in Japanese. and the site doesn't mention what the locations are.
