I don't know whether to be amazed by the composition, or to laugh at the parody of summer movie trailers.  I'll go with the second one.

Wow, that's awesome! If they'd used something like that as a real trailer for it when they re-released it, I bet a lot more people would've checked it out. The only thing is, of course, a trailer like that doesn't capture all the zany humour of Lupin. But then again, it's not intended to, either.

Awesome. I really wanna watch Mamo now. I didn't like it, (the actual movie) but when I look back, I think I should give it another chance...

Now that I think about it, I probably should've changed the name to Jerry Bruckheimer, because he gets turned on by loud and pompous music; but the slow motion version of those scenes is clearly a Michael Bay-ism.

That link is gone.  ??? :-[

I'll be honest it was the "Michael Bay" line that got my attention. I've enjoyed Bay doing Transformers for the most part, but I think I would not have him direct a Lupin film; he's more an action/war director than a heist/film noir director. He would probably be better off producing it.

Well, he did recently do Pain & Gain, so it ain't impossible for him to jump over to Lupin...

Personally I think Matthew Vaughn would be a more suitable director for Lupin over Michael Bay. He's done some pretty brutal R-rated stuff, but he's also directed a few PG-13 movies that are more wide-audience friendly. "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and "X-Men: First Class" have a classic, 60's Bond vibe to them that would be perfect for Lupin.

On the other hand, if Bay were to direct I'd be afraid that the movie would be overlong, have far too many giant slo-mo explosions, and would possibly have a model who isn't much of an actress cast as Fujiko.

Do you mean because Pain & Gain is closer to Lupin than Transformers, Parts: the Clonus Horror The Island, and the like?

Because if you're saying Pain & Gain is like Lupin....ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Pain and Gain was a entertaining period crime story, but IMO it's still too much Bay style (explosions, action, stupidity) for him to really be suited for a Lupin tale. Lupin is a heist saga and deserves a smarter director than Bay.
