Japanese fans prefer Lupin anime to manga?

At least according to this poll, where it's #1 in anime adaptations considered better than their source material.

Sounds about right to me. I like the anime way better, the 1971 series aged like a fine wine especially. The manga is on my shelf though, it has it's moments, and Monkey Punch is definitely a visionary.

Congrats to the Blue Jacket show for making it to No 1!

IMO Lupin throughout the saga's history has been on a razor's edge between serious and fun, film-noir and adventure, adults and children. I think that the new Lupin show was able to keep on both sides and appeal to a wide variety of fans both old and new, thus making it a great adaptation.
