R.I.P. Isao Takahata
« on: April 05, 2018, 07:17:40 pm »
As @gen_ghibli reminded me, the director of the Oscar-nominated Ghibli film, Princess Kaguya, also co-directed many of the episodes from the green jacket Lupin, with Hayao Miyazaki. ANN has more on his other work. Other works to check out from include Grave of the Fireflies, and Discotek’s Horus, Prince of the Sun.

Princess Kaguya was the only film I saw of him and I cried 5 solid minutes at the end.

Rest in peace, Takahata. You did well.
Time to play the game, time to get a chance !

RIP to a great anime director and a Ghibli founder.

Does anyone know which Lupin works he actually directed? Did they seem unique in their way?
