Best Lupin opening/closing credits?
« on: November 24, 2019, 01:48:45 pm »
What would you say were the most spectacular Lupin III title sequences (opening/closing, film/TV/OVA) across the saga's history?

I think the best were:
- the Red Jacket series, at least the first two opening title sequences.
One was a Mission Impossible sequence which showcased the main cast in brief but impressive vignettes (Goemon slicing a plane, Zenigata chasing the gang across a desert)
The second title sequence was jazzy and surreal, a very stylish sequence worthy of a OO7 film.

- The Castle of Cagliostro had a quaint title sequence, where Lupin and Jigen travelled to Cagliostro in an atmospheric sequence that evoked the beauty of mid-century Europe.

- The Woman Called Fujiko Mine had a bold, shocking opening (naked Fujiko clones all over) and a melancholy cllosing (shots of an infantile Fujiko in lingerie)

- The 2015 series had a cool intro that reintroduced Lupin and Co in a 3D-styled montage of stunts and style.

- The 2018 series had a cute closing title sequence with Fujiko amidst French landmarks, and chilling in a bar with the rest of the gang.

- The 2019 CGI film uses its CGI to capture the gang in an opening sequence of clockwork mechanisms.

Does anyone have any favourite Lupin title sequences?
