Don't ask about buying bootlegs. Just download fansubs. Until someone just rips the various bootleg DVDs out there of Part II, no discussing how to obtain them, please.

There are actually 4 dubs of "Mamo" though only 2 companies used the name in the title. Geneon and Streamline (whose dub is IMO considerably better than their Cogliostro dub and underrated) are the well known ones, but there was a dub done in th UK circa 1996 (date not really important) and one that was shown on US flights to Japan (I want to say PanAm airlines) in 1978. Good luck finding anything but the Geneon dub unless your me and actually found a Streamline DVD.
Is it wrong to steal Lupin merchandise or just hilariously ironic??

A little history for those interested.

I was party to perpetuating the notion that the 1970s dub was shown on International Japan flights (calling even the JAL dub, at times). However, the only reports about showings I've come across were experimental ones in the States shortly after the film's Japanese release (early 80's). TMS (and/or possibly Toho) would have the locals pass cards around to gauge interest in "this kind of movie"....to see if entering the American market with anime was worthwhile.

Eventually TMS decided it wasn't worth their time and gave up on the idea. When Geneon went to release the Mamo DVD, one of their employees, armed with a multi-gen copy on VHS, inquired the licensor about the old 70's dub. They didn't know a thing about it.

YO! The thread's seen an overhaul, with active links, new content, and a generally more ordered design. Go check it out!

Sorry, I spent an hour today digging around for you, but no such luck, man.

I actually own a piano book of various Lupin themes, but I'm not sure if that's something I can get away with posting. Sorry.

Not to make a post just for this, but I'd prefer folks know rather than miss it because the forum doesn't register an edit as there being anything new in the thread:

I've got just about every torrent listed in the first post, so if you need me to seed something, chances are I can and am more than willing to do so. Let me know in PM or here to do so and I can. Currently the Green Vs Red and Greatest Capers torrents are being seeded. I'd do more but I'm using up almost all my bandwidth to begin with.

It's cool that we have the Cagliostro Streamline dub, but what about Mamo?

Firstly welcome to the forums, secondly it's kind of anticonducive to make your first post a request.

The HK dub can be found on Luis Cruz's excellent resource, The Lupin Encyclopedia. As for Streamline, I don't have it, don't know where it can be found, and am a little miffed at your joining the forums only to request something.

Alright, couple notes! Apparently no one's seeding that dang music megatorrent, so I'll be updating that over the next couple days, chances are. Also, the Sweet Lost Night torrent is a RAW only, but I'll keep it up. In the meantime, a frostii torrent has been added, this one subtitled.

Also, after some private messages, PLEASE if you download from here, seed as long as you can, with a minimum of the time spent download. Took two hours to download? Seed for two hours. If I keep getting complaints these things ain't being seeded, I might pull them just 'cause a torrent that doesn't get seeded is a dead torrent.

Yeah, didn't really consider that. Sorry. I've been checking in the forums even before I joined, tho. Truth is, I really do appreciate what everybody's doing here, and would love to contribute in the future.

There are a couple things I'm curious about, though. I'm unfamiliar with MKV and OGM files. Does anybody know what I can play them with, or if they can be converted into more recognizable formats?

I know what you mean. I hate it when a torrent goes nowhere or stops just short of completion. I've made it a new policy to seed until I've uploaded as much as I downloaded, so how long I seed a torrent depends on how good my connection is.

A Russian site apparently has a torrent of the Monkey Punch anthology, "Mankatsu".  It appears to be the whole series, judging by its file size.
