Treasure of the Sorcerer King question
« on: January 20, 2007, 12:01:10 pm »
Having finished the game, I'm replaying it trying to get all the items. There are just a few that have me stumped - the Jigen/Lupin figurines and another just marked ???. An italian walkthrough mentions that they are upstairs in the Old Palace, behind a laser blocking a stairway. There certainly are guards up there - they come when you trigger the laser alarm - but it seems impossible to pass. That same walkthough says to roll under, but that hasn't worked yet.
Does anyone know how to get them?
Has anyone else actually played the game?
And how much does it suck that Lupin (DEX 30+ )  can't even jump?

I have.  I can't help you with the game, since the PS2 belongs to my cousin, but I do agree that the devolpers should've taken some inspiration from Cagliostro and given Lupin the ability to jump.

DoubleJump Books. Check out their unofficial Lupin III strategy message board. In one thread, there's a list of every item in the game and how to get it.

It's linked to as the last question in the FAQ thread, which is a sticky.

Thanks a lot, finally got 100% now.
The laser grid is a red herring - too bad the italian site listed that tip as "confirmed".
It was nice that the last item required the grappling hook - that means that Lupin can use his one and only gadget (the glasses can't be counted) at a whopping THREE different locations! Nice job of capturing the spirit of the series...not.
I sure hope the next game will be better - the trailer looks promising. To actually get to play as Zenigata is a great idea!
