Title: Lupin the Merch!
Post by: angelidollinda on July 05, 2009, 06:39:07 pm
I know some of us get excited when we find new Lupin goodies, so I thought it'd be a good idea to make a thread where we talk about our latest finds, news on new merchandise that's coming out, or link to places where you can find a good deal on them. You can also help out other users that are searching for hard-to-find items or items they need to exchange or sell (be sure to use the PM system to discuss selling/buying from users, to keep your and others' private information safe!).

At the moment, there's a seller on eBay who has a ton of Lupin OST CDs for a decent price. Another user has a couple of Medicom dolls up for cheap, too! You can find them and other Lupin goods if you enter "lupin the 3rd" in the search box.

Last time I was on E-Bay I saw Lupin, Jigen, and Fujiko Stylish Figures in jail--and Lupin and Jigen are in black-and-white prison uniforms. Considering that in the 2nd series, 3rd series, Farewell to Nostradamus, Alcatraz Connection, and Sweet Lost Night they're only ever blue-and-white-striped, blue-and-yellow striped,  or pink and-white-striped, the black-and-white striped ones looked pretty sweet. : )

This will probably interest me more than anyone else, but on eBay a while back, I came across a copy of a Japanese volume of World's Most Wanted, signed by Monkey Punch.  I also discovered his artbook, Cuties for sale.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that Lupin jump drive we heard about a while back.

*__* Yeah, that's the one. ^^ I'd imagine that a bunch of WMW fans would want to get their hands on the signed volume. XD

I'm probably just as interested. ^^ I'm a fan of WMW as well, but I'm stuck with only two volumes. =/

The black-and-white ones are part of the green jacket stylish figures.

Are the red jacket stylish figures less common than the green jacket ones?

That would make sense. ^^ I forgot about episode 4. ^^;;

I think so. I saw a bunch of green jacket Stylish Figures but only two or three red jacket Stylish Figures. The 8? inch ones, though, seem to be just as common. One year I bought a Stylish figure of red jacket Zenigata, and the next year I bought the green jacket/40th anniversary version of the Stylish figure. I hope that Anime Pavilion has another Zenigata one this year. : ) One thing that you're sure to find is no shortage of Fujiko Stylish figures, green or red. ^^

I think that everyone buys up all of the red jacket stuff the first day of a con and all the green jacket stuff is left since it's lesser known than red jacket. Anime Palace is usually at every con I go to and the vender there says that usually the Lupin figures sell out first, leaving only all of the other characters.

I would like to mention that on Lupin the Third Encyclopedia, there are links in the WMW manga section that have a site that carries a few volumes still in stock.

Thanks a lot, Geist!

For any of you who shop at Hobby Link Japan, here's some Lupin releases that are on the horizon:

It looks like for the 30th anniversary of Castle of Cagliostro, there's going to be a special edition collection of the DX figures: one of COC Green Jacket Lupin and one of COC Wedding Dress Clarisse!

http://www.hlj.com/product/BNP46186-A Pre-order Lupin here
http://www.hlj.com/product/BNP46186-B Pre-order Clarisse here

Also, there's going to be a new set of the Action Poses Figures! One of which is Lupin in "pouncing on Fujiko-chan" boxer shorts action. No joke. XD

http://www.hlj.com/product/BNP46128-B Pre-order Naughty Underwear Lupin here =P

The previous Action Pose collection will be released this month! You can find them here:

The DX figures are pretty tall, the Green Jacket Lupin I have is about 10" inches while Zenigata is about the same height.

I'm not sure about the Action Pose set. Does it say the height in cm?

Not sure, the picture is there but it, in and of itself, is pretty dang small.

Thanks for starting this thread! I love collecting Japanese toys in general and anything related to Lupin and company is especially exciting. At this point my collection is pretty modest, with an assortment of the small collectible figures, a few DX figures, a couple die cast toys, plus the Hot Wheels Cagliostro set (all three cars blister packed together). I also have three of the Chrono cars that came with the Pioneer, Red Jacket series DVDs. For me the holy grail of Lupin toy collecting used to be the large scale model of the Cagliostro Castle that Wave put out more than a decade ago. It is HUGE! However I have recently learned through a good friend in Japan of a new and similar item from another company, and this thread is obviously the perfect place to post a link to it. Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere.

I've got a bigger post planned later on, but I thought I'd put this up. While it isn't merchandise you can buy or order, this is the website for the Lupin III Heiwa pachinko machine that came out not too long ago: Lupin III: Tower of Lupinus!

another good place for lupin stuff is japanauctioncenter.com

it's made for people like myself that would like to bid on yahoo auction japan but have no clue how to. they have a small surcharge for bidding on your behalf but they're quite reliable. I've used them before to obtain doujinshi and soundtracks.

Has anyone checked Amazon.com?  What I've found is mostly movies and the TV series, but there's a fishing lure, pins and a soundtrack.  Think I know someone I'm Christmas shopping for...

Found this yesterday. Some previously unreleased color variants of the Choro-Qs the Limited Edition Pioneer DVDs came packed with. And how much are they? Get this...

99 cents each.

Yeah.

Fujiko w/red motorbike:
http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/4Mwj-VWbyZmTz1iERB/browse/item/85213/4/0/0

Lupin with blue Fiat 500:
http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/4Mwj-VWbyZmTz1iERB/browse/item/85212/4/0/0

Hundreds in stock for each, and I imagine you can thank Geneon for that influx of inventory....

I think there was a color variant for all the 4 LE characters (Lupin/Fujiko/Jigen/Zenigata), but I'll have to check my Lupin toy box to be certain.

I noticed several pre-order Fujiko figures on HLJ (http://www.hlj.com) today. Two of them is announced for November (this (http://hlj.com/product/BNP46142-A) and this (http://hlj.com/product/BNP46142-B)), second pair for January (this (http://hlj.com/product/BNP46358-A) and this (http://hlj.com/product/BNP46358-B)). But the thing is that I can't find any further information about them :I
I'm curious to find out if they are new sculpts or yet another recolours of existing ones. Banpresto's Lupin merch site (http://www.banpresto.co.jp/japan/amuse/lupin/) doesn't help at all.

Anyone for the rescue? Curiosity is killing me.

And on other note, Play-asia (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-19-71-9v-15-Lupin-43-9v.html) has sale on all CDs and they do have nice selection of Lupin III music. I ordered few myself already. :>

EDIT: Banpresto announced pictures for the first set I mentioned. Apparently I have to wait for january to find out what other two are like.
Play-asia's CD sale is still going on.

It's actually pretty nice but maybe a little smaller than you'd expect. Here's a picture of it in my Lupin III display. I'm glad this product is getting some buzz. When I posted about it last Summer (see page one of this thread) I think it got one comment.

Thank you very much! I'm very happy with the Castle, but did expect that it was going to be just a bit larger. The break away details are really cool though. I wish it had come with more 'props' (like some figures). I'm using a few of the ones that came with the Banpresto Castles. The scale isn't perfect but it looks OK. The Gyrocopters are just about the same size! I think the Castle that Wave produced (a model kit from about ten years ago) was larger, but lacked a lot of the details on view with this one.

No one seems to be adding any Lupin merch to their collections (or at least posting about it). I recently received a couple new figures which led to some slight shelf rearranging (i.e. cramming).

Oh, only now I noticed those Cagliostro diorama kits (or whatever they're called x_x) of yours. So tiny~♥ I browsed around them on auctions not too long ago but decided not to invest. I'm still not too thrilled about painting figures myself.

I'm, again, shocked how goddamn big that Jigen doll is! XD

I'm basically drowning in my cardboard boxes full of Lupin, but the thing is that they really are in the boxes. I'm lacking some serious space here. Glad my housemates are understanding and let me use hallway too... So, I'm waiting for that blessed day I get to move to another apartment, ngh. Currently only merch on display are those exact same Lupin and Clarisse (new Cagliostro line by Banpresto prizes). I'm building that merch line there, but by the summer that display place will be full too. D:

I'm a total hamster... ;;;

Excuse me if I am misreading your comment, but actually none of the Lupin items on my shelf are the type you 'paint yourself'. The smaller Cagliostro 'dioramas' are Gashapon toys which are like tiny pre-painted model kits made out of PVC. They are also referred to as Candy Toys because they are sometimes sold in small boxes with candy. Gashapon refers to the type that come from a vending machine and are packed in plastic eggs (like gumball machine toys). The word 'gashapon' is the sound the product makes when coins release it from the machine. Most of my smaller Lupin figures are made by Bandai, but there are some other types as well. The larger PVC figures are (as you point out) made by Banpresto. There is at least one model kit company, GSI Creos, that has produced quite a few kits based on CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO but to date, I haven't added any of those to my collection. A trading partner, and good friend, of mine in Tokyo has told me he has been working on one for me that depicts Lupin and Jigen camping out prior to their arrival at Castle Cagliostro. It's a scene from the opening credits sequence. I've been waiting about a year for him to send me this model. I can't complain however since he has sent me the Castle itself in the meantime, along with the Banpresto Prisonbreakers figures and too many other items to list. Anyway here's a picture of that kit, which is (I think) in the 1/12th scale and does require painting and assembly:

and here is a website with pictures and details of some of the other kits: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10012888. Lazymez I hope you are able to work out a way or a place to display some of those Lupin figures you are 'drowning' in because the idea of keeping them all locked up in storage just makes me sad. Even if you are only able to hang one three foot shelf, it can still go a long ways to brightening up your environment with toys. Good luck!

Post by: Lazymez on February 03, 2010, 09:09:22 pm
Whoaa I'm getting confused here XD

To clear the possible misunderstandings;
If you're telling me those small ones are simply gashapons, I think what I've seen might be unofficial garage kits of those or something. Seller had photos of open box with unpainted pieces (i.e scene with Lupin pulling Clarisse outside the window). I think I need to try to find those auction items again when I have time. It was weeks ago when I saw them, tho, so I'm not sure if I can find them again.

I'm somewhat familiar with those GSI Creos Cagliostro kits you mentioned. You see those once in a while on auctions. Hopefully you'll get that one sooner or later home, it looks pretty detailed with all those small articles :D If I ever decide to try out unpainted models, I think they'll be from Sailormoon. They look simple enough and completed Sailormoon PVC models have no real variety on second hand market.

Yeah, both I and my figures are crying because of current box situation. Not only my Lupin stuff are hiding in boxes. I've wanted to screw some shelves on my room walls to get more display places, but I decided not to 'cause I never know when I'm moving out. Frustrating situation >_>;
Title: Re: Lupin the Merch!
Post by: Mattel Jones on February 03, 2010, 10:43:26 pm
Thanks for your reply Lazymez! Now you've got me curious about what you saw. Still I have a suspicion it was most likely one of those GSI Creos kits, but maybe not clearly labeled as such? There is so much legit Lupin III merch out there I can't imagine a need for bootlegs...but who knows...

Anyway here's a comparison shot of one of the Bandai Gashapons with its source material. You talk about detail with the 1/12th scale model kits, well I think Bandai is pretty impressive to at a much smaller size! I stuck a penny in there for size check.  Note that this diorama is part of the same set that includes the one of Lupin pulling Clarisse through the window. I've seen this set listed on ebay for as much as 70. USD which blows my mind since they probably sold originally in Japan for a couple bucks at most.(http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh242/matteljones/JogenRamen.jpg)(http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh242/matteljones/JigenRamen3d.jpg)

Via Scott Green, Lupin the Revoltech (http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/07/more-revoltech-lupin-iii-from-wonder.html).

The joint in Jigen's neck kind of scares me a bit, but they look pretty decent otherwise. I might just pick these up when October rolls around.

Never thought the day would come when I'd say that I am offering a little Goemon figurine - or rather, a keychain - for sale, but... here it is. He's looking for a good home in the Toronto area, and I can assure you that he is in the same shape I got him in. The Lupin tag on the ring is unfortunately long gone by now, but hopefully that isn't too much of a problem; the only thing is that I desperately tried to figure out the name and make of this particular figure and failed miserably. (If anyone can help with this, do let me know!) Anyway, all I have to take pictures with is a lousy, seldom-used webcam, so I apologize for the quality.

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x52/Ishiface/Goemonforsale.png (Kept it to a link since I didn't want to stretch the page with a large image.)

I'd like to sell this in person - and I realize that limits things on both ends. If you are still interested and/or want some details, it's probably best to reach me via PMs. This post'll eventually be edited to reflect changes if and when the trinket is bought.

Thanks!  ;)

So I was doing my (semi-) regular search of Lupin on Rightstuf to see if prices went down so that I can inform potential fans of good deals. When all of a sudden I notice 2 new listings for the Revoltech Action Figures (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#ITEM110) on Rightstuf.

Lupin (http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/mm6BVrSI0EMC7FDzuy/browse/item/89426/4/0/0)

Jigen (http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/mm6BVrSI0EMC7FDzuy/browse/item/89427/4/0/0)

Strange thing is that Rightstuf lists them for releasing in December 30'th and January 30'th respectively, while Lupin III Network (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#ITEM110) lists them for October 15'th and November 15'th respectively.

That's probably when they'll get their shipment from their overseas distributor.  Personally, I'd suggest using HobbyLink Japan (hlj.com) to pre-order them if you are looking to pick up a few other figures at the same time.

Today a miracle occured and I've spotted a piece of Lupin merchandise in my country. This is truly unbelievable. On a big auction site, like eBay, I've found an awesome male T-shirt with Jigen. Here it is http://allegro.pl/lupin-czarna-koszulka-emo-punk-skate-oldschool-m-i1244899184.html (http://allegro.pl/lupin-czarna-koszulka-emo-punk-skate-oldschool-m-i1244899184.html) I bought it right away, I just couldn't resist even if I'm a girl and quite a pip-squeak and I'm sure I'm going to drown in that but at least I'll use it at home. It costs around 18 $, postage included. It's size M but there's size L too. The T-shirt is new and there're 7 more.

I will wait for the T-shirt to come to check the quality but if there's someone who would be interested in getting it, I could help a little. Allegro is a Polish site, a trusted one, but they don't ship outside the country. So, I could get the T-shirt and then send it to whoever wants it. The second option is to write to the guy who sells it and ask if they ship outside but I'm not sure if he speaks English so I could write an email to him. Just give me a poke if there's a need ;D

There's also this nice Lupin hoodie but it's XXL so it's waaaaaay too huge XD http://allegro.pl/lupin-z-kapturem-emo-skate-nowosc-roz-xxl-i1240888429.html (http://allegro.pl/lupin-z-kapturem-emo-skate-nowosc-roz-xxl-i1240888429.html)

(WTF emo-shop XD how can Lupin be emo? These guys don't know a thing!)

Translation is something like:"Inspector Zenigata's (Zenigata's File) Chronicles"

...

"Mystery of the Mine Fuziko - That Lupin don't know!"

They both seem to be character file type material; a rough translation of the table of contents for the Fujiko book reveals:

The Zenigata table of contents is more banal:

The history of Fujiko before meeting Lupin is intriguing.  Wonder how official the material is considered...

I've bought all Lupin III related figures released this year, but these latest ones are just too cool not to mention.
After so many of plain standing poses, we got these:
(click to show/hide)
Starter pair of Banpresto's Lupin III Stylish Figure -line. Released last month.
Not bad finds for 10€ each. Lupin has awesome metallic paintjob on his jacket and Fujiko has shiny vinyl looking skirt.
I wish I could leave them hanging around on my PS3, but they are bit on the heavy side (especially Lupin) so I better move them somewhere else :I

EDIT: Now these two reside with my digital clock in front of TV, myosh. And I got shipping confirmation for Revoltech's Lupin, so exciting.

Here's an updated picture of my Lupin and gang shelf (see earlier in thread for previous pic). It's getting a bit crowded. This is a 3' by 1' size shelf. I've got to start a new one and move some of these figures into that. My big wish is to get another showpiece type item to center the second display around. I'm thinking of the big DX model of Lupin driving his car from the first series.

Nice.

The only Lupin merch that i have is another version of your DX model from Lupin, only that he poses with an invisible Zippo and a cigarette. I don't like smoking, but that was the best i could catch. ( Oh f**king hell, i forgot i have money now. I need to buy Jigen, Goemon ...  maybe Fujitits! )

And one..or two mangas from the Tokyopop edition from the US. As i heard they wanted to stop continue the print i lost interest. :(

Post by: Mattel Jones on January 02, 2011, 04:39:38 pm
Thanks Jenko. I really think the DX figures are about the best bet in terms of bang for your buck regarding Lupin collectibles. They are solid representations of the anime and look good on a shelf one at a time or in any number. I've found that a lot of the smaller articulated figures (for example the new Revoltech line) tend to suffer from being a bit too fragile. As someone pointed out earlier in this thread the head joint on the Jigen figure is especially susceptible to breakage if you are not careful. I also love the small dioramas, which can really capture moments from the films. My emphasis is on CoC, and the Green jacket becausae those are my favorite Lupin incarnations, but there's a fair amount of other material out there worth looking for. My favorite character is actually Jigen, the family dog is even named Jigen! In the shots there are (including micro figures) 15 Jigen and 14 Lupin.

Here's something that might be of interest to someone here. There is a company website called Blue Hotaru that seems to be in the Pachinko machine business and, they do sell LUPIN THE THIRD Pachinko flags sometimes and they even have a game for sale at the moment, Here is a link to their web site

http://bluehotaru.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_29&products_id=294

I ordered one last year and it arrived not much more than a week later. Amusingly enough they sent me a holiday greeting a couple weeks ago, even though this was the extent of the business I'd done with them. Here's a picture of the flag I purchased which I don't think is available anymore. In fact if you like either of the one's listed I would act quickly because I have a feeling the supply is very limited. They have flags for other Anime and pop cultural characters as well (all of which seem to demand a higher price than the Lupin ones!)

I would like to put my black old fedora on your Jigen and make a new photo.

Also,  again, i am a little bit jealous that you got the prison versions and the burgler outfit of Lupin. I don't have much money and in Germany you don't get much stuff like figurines. You are even lucky when you have a store with a big manga collection.

I am still thinking about to purchase Jigen and the other two, but they are sold out or the shipping price is so high with the actual price its too much. And the little Jigen doll thing with the big head is even bigger than i'd imagined.  And where the f**k did you get Fujiko with the Mona Lisa? That would be perfect in my room. Goddamn.

And how much did you pay for the glass cabinet?
Title: Re: Lupin the Merch!

I think he would look good with the hat, but his own hair serves the same purpose of concealing his eyes.

Most of my Lupin III items are received from old friends in Japan. I think the prices (on ebay etc.) are crazy! I think there are smaller versions of the Panson Works (the figure with the big head) that are more the size of candy toys.

I bought a pair of those glass cabinets about 4 years ago off Craig's List for about 200. USD, delivery was another 75. If you look earlier in the thread you can see a good picture of them.

Thank you for looking at and responding to the post.

magazine (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#ITEM131).  8) Is it just me, or is Fujiko's waist uber-small to support her chest?

So, remember First Haul, anyone? FUNimation's little banquet of 5 specials/movie items that got pakcaged together after they made off with the cash from an indivual release? Yeah, it's superhot on Amazon. That is to say, never going to be sold. Who wants to pay almost 300 USD for five boring movies? (http://www.amazon.com/Lupin-3rd-Movie-Pack-First/dp/B000FS2VYK/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1305130544&sr=8-8)

As an aside: Seriously used from 50 smackers? Extortionists, I cry!

^LOL wot.

I got both hauls for $50 off Amazon a few years back. Pretty sure it qualified for their free shipping too.

edit;
On the same note - A new volume 8 of Tokyopop's WMW is going for $85 (http://www.amazon.com/Lupin-III-Worlds-Wanted-Graphic/dp/1595320776/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1305157625&sr=1-4), shipping not included.

I imported two music books. One called "Piano Solo: Rupan Sansei(in Japanese) Best Collection" which is piano sheet music for some of the themes. Most of the songs are from the Red Jacket, however there are two songs from the Green Jacket Series. It even includes a piano only version and vocal version of Fire Treasure. The arrangements instructions on how to play them are in Japanese, which doesn't help me that much lol. This one was the most expensive of the two, due to the book being from 2003 and out of print. To be fair, the book is for intermediate players and has a piano Primo and Second song as a bonus "Lupin the Third Latin Love and Peace Calcutta mix".

The other book I got was "Piano Trio Score: Rupan Sansei/Lupin the Third Jazz" which contains arrangements from the "Lupin The Third Jazz" Album. In fact, the whole album is arranged and includes the solos that are in the song to. Hell, Manhattan Joke is over 30 pages long because it has all of their solos written out for you! All the songs are from the Red Jacket Series with the exception of "Manhattan Joke" by the way. It includes parts for Piano, Guitar, Bass, Percussion, and Drums. No vocal, but with jazz, you can do your own vocal lol. This one was priced really well all things considered. Both books were published under the DoReMi Music Publishing CO. LTD.

I love these books. I try not to use them all that much, but it's just so tempting lol.

Luckily I bought both Hauls when the first released for $20 Bucks each + Shipping, lol. I still wonder why that 10 Movie Complete Box Set they announced shortly after never came to fruition. FUNi loves to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release series, lol.

Thanks for this: I DL'ed it for my iPad so it's pixelated when going full screen but otherwise, it's pretty nifty.

they do sell LUPIN THE THIRD Pachinko flags sometimes and they even have a game for sale at the moment,

& daaaaang!  As soon as I saw this, I snatched up the last design they still had in stock (no longer pictured).  Their website is kept pretty up to date & they shipped it faster than lightening.  'Can't wait till it arrives.

If by "loose" you mean "able to remove parts to replace them" then yes.
The head and hands and whatnot are fairly easy to remove and replace, but they're also pretty firm so once you have them on, they're really easy to pose. =)

And if you mean "ability to move the figure" then.... also yes. lol :P
The joints are pretty easy to move around, though with some positions, they take a little bit of fiddling to figure out everything bends and slides.
But they're firm enough that they'll more or less stay in the position you put them in. =)

Just an awesome set of figures all around, and definitely worth every yen-converted penny I spent on them. ^_^

Now I don't know who thinks that anyone, even us, is going to pay over 60 bucks to buy each of those sets of five movies? They are not worth that, and never will be materially worth that. And I don't know who thinks that they are worth that much to themselves to sell it for such a steep price.

Since I couldn't find all of the movies for a cheap price when I wanted all 10, I just bought them individually from both Amazon, and 2 from Ebay. Cost me about $65 bucks in total, nothing much.

Recently I've found that both the first and second Hauls are available on Ebay for $47 dollars each. Which realistically is a much more deserving price than $300 for one of the hauls. http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Lupin-3rd-1-5-Movie-Pack-DVD-2006-5-Disc-Set-/56122472?_dmpt=US_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray&_pcategid=617&_pcatid=1&_refkw=lupin+the+3rd&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5212&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Actually I guess the 2nd haul is still over $100. But you get my point. Somewhere you can probably get them for under $80, if your lucky.
But if any of you are desperate to just buy all the movies. Do what I did, buy them individually. It will hurt your DVD shelf space more than it will your wallet.  ;D
Title: Re: Lupin the Merch!

Getting each movie individually is not only cheaper than the Haul sets nowadays, but you also get all the cover art instead of these weird "slivers" of cover art for each package. The Hauls are a slick package but they're sorely lacking in artwork.

Ah, hello Mr. 3rd.

I haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting you yet. At a better time, I do have some questions I'd like to ask you.

But for this particular topic, have you ever come across a poster enlargement of the first Pioneer Lupin DVD on Amazon? It's a 27 x 40 image straight from the box-art. http://www.amazon.com/Rupan-sansei-Poster-Inches-Yamada/dp/B0051OLNDI/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1313174871&sr=1-3

(http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/259/c/1/shrine_to_lupin_the_3rd_by_filmmakerj-d2yurct.png) At the time I bought it, it was the only suitable poster that I could buy for cheap. Most other official Lupin posters run around $45-$75 dollars on Ebay.

Just recently, however, I have found a wonderful Lupin movie poster that I bought for a rock bottom price. But I will talk more about it when it arrives.

I don't know for sure.
I would say based on the few images I have seen and some items I've noticed here and there, there might be. Problem is everyone is focused on selling Lupin items on Amazon and Ebay and other places, that alone is obscure enough. So finding something as obscure as a Monkey Punch art book is a real stroke of luck. At least in my experience.

If it is an art-book solely based in Lupin art by Monkey Punch, then there might be one or two around somewhere.

Italian publisher Ghenos Games (http://www.ghenosgames.com/content/view/142/1/lang,en/) will puplish this awesome board game on november! What is totally aaawwwwwsome is that this board game is also in English! not only italian (websites says so:"Although the cards have an Italian text, the game can easily be played by Italian non-speaking people. The rules have the translation and the picture on the cards recalls to their effect.")

2-5 Players (14+ years)
Duration: 90 minutes +
Box Contents: 1 game board, 5 screens, 5 miniatures, 20 tokens, 2 dice, 60 cards, 55 tiles, 1 turn counter token
Rules: Italian, English

Overview of the Game:
At the end of the second cartoon series, Lupin and his gang (Jigen, Goemon e Fujiko) are still looking for the next heist. "Red ruby" in Burma and "The great bank robbery" in Switzerland are two new missions for the famous thieves. Players choose to play the role of Inspector Zenigata and his agents or Lupin III and his gang or just one of them. The gang's main aim of the game is to steal the treasures and escape from the law. Inspector Zenigata's aim is to arrest them.

But be aware of Fujiko: although she usually works together with the others, she occasionally exploits Lupin's interest in her to steal the treasure for herself.

I asked if I could buy an Aroma Black coffee at the grocery store because they had the little Lupin III figures the last time i went. I because of the 40th Anniversary celebration. I swear I wanted to take all the coffees with them, the figures weren't even taped on the coffee can, they were just looped around it. I couldn't do it though. Sadly no more figures are in because it ended on September 30 :(

Ok, here's the story.

I went to the Nagasaki Okunchi Festival on October 16, 2011.
I'm not exactly sure what the festival was about but it felt like a carnival, with lines of stalls with food, lots of yakitori and cotton candy and games. As me and my friends were touring and walking around, I saw a ring toss with cool things that I could take back to Canada to give to people. What do you know, I eventually see a picture of Lupin III and Fujiko and I had no idea what it was, maybe my sight is getting worse or something but I wanted to get it so badly. I paid 500 yen for 10 tries and the Lupin item was right there, literally 2 feet away. I managed to loop a ring around the one next to it but the guy working the game said I could have the Lupin III one. My friends laughed at me, haha I laughed at myself too. When I got it and realized it was a lighter and brought it home I never thought about how to bring it home. I come back home to my host family and show them it and my host mother said " You can't take that home. Not in package or suitcase. Very dangerous." Then I made a great BIG sigh. My host mother also told me that it was an antique too...

I actually have some interesting stories as well with Lupin related things on my new episode on my podcast: Lupinhasapodcast!

This is a request more than anything... am I okay to do this here?  :-X

I'm living in the UK and have been looking everywhere for the Pioneer Lupin DVD's. I remember seeing a picture of a box set with them all in a while back and would absolutely love to own it. I've searched eBay and can find the single volume DVD's, but the price can vary between £10 to £40. The quality of the items vary too; one I saw cost £20+ and comes in an old Blockbuster rentals case... I'd really love to own the Pioneer Red Jacket stuff so I'm making this cry for help... is there anywhere that still sells this online that I'd be able to import from? I'm happy paying up to £100 for it (that's about $150.)

Ah, a fellow Brit.

The Pioneer/Geneon Lupin DVDs never came out in a box set, the closest was a pack with the first three DVDs. You're going to have to settle with the singles for the Red Jacket series.

I'd recommend Rightstuf for the majority of the volumes (they're customs friendly as they mark items as $5 so just keep it below the £15 customs threshold) and going to Amazon marketplace (you can log into Amazon.com using a UK account if you already have one) for the awkward volumes such as 5, 9, 11 and 15.

My brother wanted the DVDs earlier this year and this is what I did for him.

Thanks for the info.  :) I'll give that link a go. I'm already signed up on Amazon and didn't think of checking there. The picture of the "box set" I saw either must've been a mock up or another foreign set; it's no wonder I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm hoping if the Discotek Green Jacket set sells well, we might see a Red Jacket one by them too. Good to see more British Lupin fans, I feel like I'm the only one sometimes (but obviously am not.) =P

Fujiko loves the smell of napalm (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#fujiko2_cagliostro) in the morning.  8) Also, it looks like Tokyopop restocked some of the manga at Right Stuf (http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/twVrYNFHjXvWUyO=b0/browse/search/5/4/0/0/results/desc/asc/50/1).

Update: Oh, and Fujiko with a camera (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#2). And Seiko watches (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#seiko_1).

Here's some pix of a small display model of the Fiat from CoC. This came out late in 2011 and supposedly sold out the day of release. My friend and trading partner in Tokyo pre-ordered this from Amazon.jp for me. It's not as nice hyper detail wise as you'd expect from an American release toy at this price point but it's not bad. The designer sculpted the back left tire semi-flat in a way that displays the car in a nice pitched style that evokes the high speed animated chase from the film.

Those figures are so awesome, I'd like to own those one day.

I don't have any pics, but I recently bought Vol I at rightstuf that comes with the Lupin mini figure and Fiat 500 for 9.00. Such a good deal because the one without the toy is is 18 dollars. I'm recollecting my dvds and now have vols 1,2,3,5, 8, and one of the later releases. I a lot of the DVDs and bluray set of green jacket series. I was selling it on ebay, collected my money and then the internet went out and I couldn't get online for about 5 months. Whoever bought it from me did get their money back and if you're reading this I'm very sorry about the inconvenience.

Most random purchases ever.  I know these are relatively old but I only just got my hands on them: for all the ladies, Fujiko themed cosmetics by Creer & Bandai!  (The bath salts are Bandai.)  They also have a pink gloss, eyeliner and lengthening mascara as well that I did not pick up.

I have yet to try the mascara, but the gloss is actually quite substantial!  Creer makes really good cosmetics to begin with.. For those not in Japan, you can purchase them at imomoko.com~

Well, it took me a non-indicative amount of years, but at last i have a reason to post here.

In my latest anime convention-going experience (which was just last afternoon), I've finally found Banpresto's Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro Stylish Figure figurine and gathered my non-shame to purchase it. Considering Lupin's lack of popularity over in the Benelux, i had a surprising stroke of luck finding it on display at one of the booths. And at a price of €29 (around 38.70 USD), i thought it was kind of a bargain.

Photo coming eventually.

"Bistro Boy" (男子 means boy)
maybe it's a magazine??
Anyway,
the red text means:
"Steal the pasta!"
to the right of the exclamation mark is: "Try to make!"

the rest I can't see very well...

Those are cool and all, but the detracting thing for me is that, despite the larger size, the detail is not any greater than a figure 5 inches high; which is a shame.

Something that tall should have twice as much detail, and Lupin's head should not be as flat as that.

Maybe I'm nitpicking, but since I don't have the money to blow on it, it makes it easier to think about the pros and cons. So even if I did have the money, though, probably wouldn't get them cause they don't look as nice as they ought to.

I'd much rather own that Red Jacket Lupin they had standing next to a shelf in that Lupin store they had open a couple years back. Which was also roughly life-size.

"DAMN!"
Well that's what I said when I was bidding on a lot of 2 Lupin the 3rd LP records, and a poster of...what looked like the entire opening to the Green Jacket series laid out frame by frame all across the paper. Really odd lookin' thing. But the lot was going for $1.50 when it started. And then after 10 people bid, it ended up selling for over $39. So nobody got an uber cheap deal, like I was hoping for.

But good thing though is, I managed to bid on the same TV Show Vol. 1 LP for a decent price, just after that other auction closed. So I'm a happy camper, cause I finally got a genuine Lupin record in my collection. Should be here half way through June.

And of course, here is my Re-creation of this fine cover.

Wow, a real Lupin LP! That's awesome!

I have a box set called "Lupin the Remaster", which has CDs of the original three soundtracks plus a full record sleeve size reproduction of all their covers nd liner notes... But I still wouldn't mind owning an original LP, too!

There's a neat centerfold in that album of the whole gang in their second series designs... it's a picture I really like.

Anyway, congratulations!!

Hi, just visited for a quick post on magazines and goods:

MAGAZINES
Issued today, a men's trend magazine called "Pen" has a 70-page feature of Lupin III.
All Japanese enthusiastic fans (at least those around me) gave a very good review on this feature; very well-detailed, precise, and good columns much better than recent 2 books obviously compiled in hurry. Unfortunately, it's in Japanese but if you're interested, you can order from Amazon.jp:
Pen Web: http://www.pen-online.jp/feature/3276/
Amazon.jp: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B0082D3WH0/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP

Another magazine feture issued this month is "Mistery Magazine", fucusing on comparing Leblanc's Arsene Lupin novels and Lupin III. I haven't bought it yet, but will put a link just in case.
Hayakawa Publishng Web: http://www.hayakawa-online.co.jp/product/books/711207.html
Amazon.jp: http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%9F%E3%82%B9%E3%83%86%E3%83%AA%E3%83%9E%E3%82%AC%E3%82%B8%E3%83%B3-2012%E5%B9%B4-07%E6%9C%88%E5%8F%B7-%E9%9B%91%E8%AA%8C/dp/B0081T6HEU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1338571192&sr=8-2

Also announced by official Lupin 40th twitter account (https://twitter.com/#!/40thLupin3) , this month's "Newtype" (6/08 on sale) features a discussion with Miyuki Sawashiro, Sayo Yamamoto and Mari Okada on "A Woman Named Fujiko Mine".

Tinned Coffee and Smart Phone
You may have already known a tinned coffee brand “ROOTS” is conducting a marketing campaign using Lupin figurines. You get the 1st series mini figurines with non-sugared tins and the 2nd series mini figurines with sugared tins. After collecting 5 coupons attached to the leaflets coming with the tins, you can get 2 types of Fujiko figurines for 3,000 JPY each (non-sugar type and sugared type).
http://www.jtaroma.jp/

Starting today, a mobile phone maker Kyosera launched a commercial film for their new models featuring Lupin, Jigen and Fujiko.
Models: http://www.kyocera.co.jp/prdct/telecom/consumer/urbanoprogresso/lupin/
Commercial film: http://www.kyocera.co.jp/prdct/telecom/consumer/urbanoprogresso/lupin/tvcm/index.html

That’s all, for now.

P.S. to moderator: If I want to post small news that are not worth creating an independent thread, which thread should be most appropriate? Or could you make a thread like "Miscellaneous"? That'll make me feel easy to post small news directly from Japan some of you may find interesting. :)

And finally, the BIG ONE, my copy of the Original, 1978 Yuji Ohno Soundtrack for the Red Jacket series

Nice collection :)
If you go for YO's original vinyl OST, you may want to get those with OBI.
Used to be my fav items when I was about 9 or 10 years old.
I think such an avid collector like you obviously know there's a box colled Lupin the Remaster with a booklet of all the inner sleeves of 6 OSTs incl. YO/Yasuo Yamada LPs, and now papersleeve CDs are available ;)

Keep up with your collection and look forward to seeing them!

I just received this thing from Japan, which I bought in an eBay auction last week (the pics are from the auction, not my own):

(click to show/hide)

It's basically just a sheet protector, but it's very glossy and high quality, so I can frame one of the sides at a time for display.

The odd thing is, there's fine print at the very bottom of one side which says, in English, NOT FOR SALE. So I'm assuming this came from some set or something, though I have no idea how to find out.

I seen this popped up on eBay recently: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lupin-Third-3rd-Pioneer-Geneon-15-DVD-Set-volumes-1-14-1-movie-/200787419916?_trksid=p5197.m1998&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D17%26meid%3D402085476608809497%26pid%3D100017%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D2%26#ht_762wt_1396

at a currend bid of $62 that is extremely low price for those DVDs considering a couple of them you can't even get at online retailers anymore.

Just thought I'd post this here in case some people still need some of the Series 2 DVDs or Mamo.  :)

Just for everyone's info, that only includes up through Volume 14 and "Mamo." Volume 15 is the super-valuable-rare one of the lot, as I recall.

Edit: Apparently Vol. 11's pretty desirable, too. More valuable than 15, even. Same goes with Volume 5, of all things. What a weird breakdown of rarity!

I know what you mean. I once had trouble finding Volume 6 of the Mushishi Manga. Rarity always breaks down in a strange way. I wound up having to purchase it from some random UK retailer website.

Very nice! I wasn't the biggest fan of the new series but I'd love that top poster.

It's a clear file!  It actually came free with the 6/2012 issue of "GetNavi!" as they were running a little feature on the new series. (Amazon.co.jp (http://www.amazon.co.jp/GET-Navi-%E3%82%B2%E3%83%83%E3%83%88%E3%83%8A%E3%83%93-2012%E5%B9%B4-06%E6%9C%88%E5%8F%B7/dp/B007SOA8VW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341552844&sr=8-1)/CDJAPAN (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=NEOBK-1235498))  I ordered mine via SAL to save so I'm still awaiting my copy.  I'll try to take some pics of the article too.

Also!  Before I forget.. the 6/2012 issue of "Pen" magazine is still available.  This has a huge feature on Lupin/Fujiko with lots of articles, creative bios and a nifty updated "Lupin Family/Universe Tree" that folds out (and includes Oscar!)  The "GetNavi" special literally went out of print overnight... you can still get "Pen" here: Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.jp/Pen-%E3%83%9A%E3%83%B3-2012%E5%B9%B4-15%E5%8F%B7-%E9%9B%91%E8%AA%8C/dp/B0082D3WH0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341591197&sr=8-1)/CDJapan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=NEOBK-1045228)  I noticed CDJapan appears to have 4 in stock at this time.

As I was in one of my favorite game stores, I was buying some old GameCube games, and I grabbed their business card, and saw they had a sister store next door called Spin Fusion, an anime store, when I turned it around I saw a large pic. of Lupin and Fujiko, standing side-by-side, hurried over to the store, and asked the clerk for the first volume of Lupin III, they were sold out... :( But, he ordered for me, and now I am forever grateful to them, in two to three days I shall own my very first physical item pertaining to Lupin ;D. Sadly I had to buy the used one for 15$ because the new one was 60+$.

So, I take it you don't do online shopping? Because you could be getting a few of the Lupin mangas on Amazon.com for $8 or less, that's including shipping. And you could get most of the films for around $12 or less, including shipping.

I agree it's exciting to see a physical store selling some form of Lupin material, but it's not necessary to get any of it from there.

Ya, I know you can find it cheaper online, but I don't know, I never liked it, unless it's something real big.

And, even though this is probably the only Lupin manga I'm going to buy, I have a quick question. I know it's very lewd, with drugs, alcohol, swearing, and sex, but before I read it, how visible is the nudity, is their complete frontal nudity?

Wow just wow ,  depending on which manga incarnation you're buying .  (Im still floored that you're a member of the board who has never  bought a Lupin merch before)  There was a early 2000 manga with a new artist , and that is closer in style to TV specials like First Contact ,
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v737/roceidcal/allthebooks.jpg)

and then there are Lupin manga by Monkey Punch , which is closer in art style to Mystery of Mamo , Mankatsu , ect.  It's art is very cartoonish , loose suggestions of anatomy , harmless  and jokey in style.... (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v737/roceidcal/actuallupin.jpg)

So the question is are you ordering the 2000 version (newer) or reprints of Monkey Punch stuff ?  My opinion is biased as an artist who drew figures from PlayBoy magazine ,  all the nudity is female topless or bare butts of Lupin males ,  depending on the manga version you bought , it could hardly be called "porn" , if you have seen a Woman Named Fujiko Mine , you know what to expect.

I didn't know you could buy one from a European country. But I have seen a movie poster for the DVD promotions, which is the exact same as that except without the big red boarder.

I on the other hand found the really bizarre Cagliostro poster, which has Lupin and Clarisse the same, but everything behind them has all shot to hell, lol. It's a lot smaller though, and a 3rd the price of the other.

Very very nice find there, BTW. :D
Oh and I see that took the Count's head from the 3rd alternate poster and slapped him there in the middle. Interesting. 8)

I AM from Europe (Switzerland exactly), that's why I could buy it! The picture is actually a mix from two movie posters, the one from 1979 and another one which was used as cover for a pamphlet gift offered by anime magazine Animage in 1983.

Why the count appears on this poster is to hide Goemon who was cut off the movie (in the objective to present this movie as European production).

From my understanding this is all 15 Geneon Part 2 DVDs as well as the English dubbed VHS, which in itself is pretty rare I'd say.

Well, Goemon didn't do much anyway. lol
So it's honestly not a big loss. Though for that one scene near the middle, I'm not sure how they were able to remove him from conversations.

So it's honestly not a big loss. Though for that one scene near the middle, I'm not sure how they were able to remove him from conversations.

The scene where they speak about Clarisse and Lupin's past were simply cut. Here is a link about censorship that was realized in 1982 (or 1983) probably in France, even if French fans believe this censorship comes from the USA (they think the same arrived like 'Nausicaa' who became 'Warrior of the Wind') and it's one of my objective to prove that the movie was not cut by Americans: http://www.schnittberichte.com/schnittbericht.php?ID=830 (http://www.schnittberichte.com/schnittbericht.php?ID=830) (the pictures show all scenes which are not to be seen in the old versions, except the opening).

In normal version, the movie is 1:40:47 minutes long, but in the two old versions, it's 1:24:40 minutes. This is where we see that Goemon is not really present in 'Cagliostro' and that the job was 'good' made, because someone who didn't know the real version will not necessarily remark that parts were cut, except during the wedding scene  ;D !

Hooray!

Managed to snag myself a copy of the 2nd volume of Lupin III music from the Red Jacket series during it's 1979 year. Now I shall have all 3. ;D 8) And this one was undoubtedly the hardest one to obtain, only because it took forever before a decent price showed up. Every one of these is either $45, $36, $52, $60, and so on and so on. But the 3rd soundtrack from 1980 can be bought on CD, even now, for only $23 dollars or so. So I'm not sure what makes this one so damn expensive.

But some Japanese seller was nice enough not to be greedy and was only selling this beauty for $11 bucks. But of course I wanted to be safe and get the insured shipping, so it came to a sturdy $32.99. And I'm sure we're all pretty used to paying about that much for our Lupin music.

(http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Lupin-III-2-Obi-LP-Japan-Anime-Gatefold-Edgar-Yuji-Ohno-Jazz-Funk-w-sheet-/00/s/Mzg4WDM4MQ==/$T2eC16dHJHwE9n8ii+ILBP8E2MIJUw~~60_12.JPG)(http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Lupin-III-2-Obi-LP-Japan-Anime-Gatefold-Edgar-Yuji-Ohno-Jazz-Funk-w-sheet-/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/$T2eC16ZHJH8E9qSEWye6BP8E2ReSfQ~~60_3.JPG)

I still don't get why we can't just get these on Amazon MP3 or I-tunes, it just doesn't make sense to me. Why is it that some Japanese songs are available, and most other music is downloadable, but most of the Japanese soundtracks you have to import on CDs? Who honestly buys CDs anymore? Well I still do, and of course I collect records, but I'm starting to convert to only MP3s, so the question still stands.

iTunes... iTunes...

Anyhoo, I'm sure the Japanese music industry is still in the phase the US music industry was when downloadable music first came out. Media giants don't respond quickly or well to these sorts of technological shifts. Recall how difficult it is to get music rights just for an anime release here in the US. I imagine it is the same in Japan; companies that hold the copyright for a piece of music are stubbornly refusing to negotiate download rights for it.

Give them time; they'll come around. No one thought Steve Jobs would get the US industry to bite on $0.99 downloads, but he did.

Toy Fujiko and her Harley (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#bike20130410). Plus, I thought they were announcing a new special, but I think those pics are just for phone cards.  :'(

Edit: Oh, I see. You purchase those for a lottery to win the toy. I think.

That's not a toy it's an actual Harley with a life-size Fujiko!!! The images are from the Bike King which is a motorcycle shop that's using Lupin III for their new campaign

Quite an impressive figure.
Muted colors. Just as expressive and dynamic as the 2D version. He even has an interchangeable head. I wish I could get it.

There's apparently a walk-in store (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#yamashiroya-130430) where you can get Fujiko stuff, too.

Edit: So apparently, Fujiko has a phone sex line (http://lupin-3rd.net/news/index.html#bikeo-fujikotel-20130510), now? Kidding, but it is some phone thing.

Edit 2: @ABcbtom and @sammdere spotted Fujiko eyeliner (https://twitter.com/sammdere/status/333784057005633537/photo/1).

That's also part of Bike-Oh's campaign. It says that if you dial Bike-Oh's helpline (and obviously live in Japan), you'll be greeted by Fujiko's pre-recorded voice. There's also a chance that you'll hear either Lupin or Zenigata's voice instead.

I knew Lupin was popular, but I didn't think he was the type of popular where they would dress him up in different occupational outfits and slap him on just about anything. Like how you have Flintstones vitamins, or Muppet Babies Baby-powder,

The heck is this, anyway? Old Mc'Lupin? It's just so dorky lookin'. But I'll admit, if I could find a carton, I'd still buy it. lol

Finally found myself a reasonable copy of the Soundtrack to "The Legend of the Gold of Babylon." And I couldn't be happier.

Truth be told, trying to watch the movie itself is one heck of a boring chore, but amidst all of the drab and dull and confusing stuff is some unique quirkiness and charm and atmosphere. This is most prevalent in the unique soundtrack provided by Mr. Ohno: who decided to change things up quite a bit by going very synth this time around. The sound and instruments are also a lot more cute and tiny sounding with high pitched twinkles and blips; like a tiny harpsichord or something.

But anyhow, I am very pleased to now have the trifecta for this movie: the movie itself, the poster (now with it's younger brother), and the full soundtrack. I can't say I could have lucked out any better for as rare a movie as this.

I've been listening to the Babylon soundtrack a lot lately (digitally though, I don't own it); I really love it. The Lupin The Third theme is on that OST is one of my favorites and tracks like Funky Monster Party are great as well. I also love track #10, The Song Of Babylon, despite it butchering the English language.

I don't usually post finds in this thread, but I thought if someone present was a Cagliostro nut, they might be interested in these two Animage issues. I particularly like the cover of the January 1980 one: "Start '80 With The Joy". Said January issue (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Animage-1-1980-Japanese-Anime-Magazine-Rare-3-/221194184688?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33803367f0)'s Lupin banner says "Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro -- Yasuo Ohtsuka's World". This November '79 issue (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Animage-11-1979-Japanese-Anime-Magazine-Rare-3-/321079694428?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ac1d7545c) seems to have a "Screen Preview" of the film on pages 79-80 (good page choices!).

I suppose if there's anything interesting within the text, it might be meaningful to someone who can read Japanese. But it appears that the visual content is not much different than the Art Book they released for Cagliostro. In fact, I think most of those designs in the January issue are just shrunk versions of the same images in the art books.

But thanks for posting these.  :)

Fortunate news for me. I had said that I bought this "Gold of Babylon" soundtrack on ebay, and I had previously bought another Lupin vinyl from this same seller. But for some reason, they forgot to send me the followup email asking me to send another 9 dollars for non-tracked shipping, and then I can choose to add another 6 dollars above that to get EMS shipping. But that never happened. And so this package was just being sent off with no tracking number. Which would have been okay, except I accidentally put the wrong apartment number on the shipping address. And so it was up in the air as to whether or not I would receive my soundtrack.

Thankfully, my grandmother was able to go to the local post-office and ask them to tell her regular mail man to check for either her's or my last name, and make sure that the address was changed and sent to the right one. And it just arrived not a minute ago, and as always, in very good condition. I'm always amazed at the lack of scratches or deterioration that I find with these Lupin soundtracks. They are some of the cleanest most unused records I have ever seen.

Not technically merch, though I wish there was a smaller version of this for sale. There's apparently a life-size statue of the Lupin gang on a bike and sidecar (http://lupin-3rd.net/2013/09/20130920bike.html) that they're letting people take photos in front of-in Shinjuku. Also, an Akamoto is supposed to be a guest there, but one of the characters got changed in translation, so I don't know who. *shrug*

Not sure how well they are actually selling though...

Hope that helps.

Spotted this cover of Animage (http://lovejapanese80s.tumblr.com/image/101420382730) with Cagliostro Fujiko on a retro-themed tumblr blog earlier on.  Just thought it was worth a mention as it's a piece of (presumably) official art I'd not seen before.

It's a nice image, drawn by Mr. Yasuo Ohtsuka several years after Cagliostro's theatrical release (I think this issue is from 1984?). If you can pick up a nice copy, it comes with a fold-out poster with Fujiko on the bike alongside the Lupin gang in the Fiat.

On the website Lego Ideas, there's currently a Lupin the 3rd project to try and release an officially licensed Lego Lupin III set.

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/99030

If you're unfamiliar with Lego Ideas, it's a site where people pitch ideas for Lego sets and if they reach 10,000 supporters, Lego will consider making an official set based off it. If the set features an existing intellectual property ie. Back to the Future or Doctor Who, Lego will then contact the owner of the IP to seek permission to create an official set. Also how the idea appears in the project wouldn't be how the final product would look like, if Lego were to produce it.

If we help the project reach 10,000 supporters, then its possible for Lupin III to receive an official set. Any other Lupin III projects that are on the site, if they also reached 10,000 supporters, it would possibly give more chance of Lupin III being considered by Lego. An official Lego set would also help promote the franchise to more audiences.

So if we try our best to help out, there's always a possibility that Lupin could be available in Lego. I also encourage fans to create their own Lupin III project ideas to submit to the site. They could be based on any of the TV series or Castle of Cagliostro. We could create a separate thread for Lupin III Lego Ideas projects.

On a side note: for anyone concerned that Lupin III might be rejected on the basis of its themes, before an idea is submitted to the site, it's first reviewed by the staff to see if it meets the guidelines. As long as the project was based off either the TV series or the second movie, it should be fine.

Out of the two I would suggest the original soundtrack over the music file one. The music file one has all of the music and background music from the movie so some of the tracks will be only a couple of seconds long. I think it might go through the music in chronological order. The other one is your standard music soundtrack where it will have extended versions of the main music from the movie and variations of them and plus they might have been remastered as well.

I personally do not have either of those CDs but I have the  older Cagliostro soundtrack that came with the 5 CD box set that came with the soundtrack from the first two series plus Lupin vs the Clone and The Legend of Babylonian Gold soundtracks as well.

I would also suggest getting the Boss Anime more Lupin! Lupin!! Lupin!!!

Thanks, that definitely settles it. And thanks for the More Lupin! Lupin!! Lupin!!! rec, too. I hadn't noticed that one before, but it looks like it has a lot of great tracks. I'm pretty tempted by the soundtracks from the Fujiko Mine series and the Gravestone OVA and also that jazz CD that has songs in Portuguese, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much money. Tough choices to make.

Also up on CDJapan but no details there. Wondering if it really needs 3 CDs for the 2nd series or if the description is inaccurate and maybe one for each series???

Wow...on a lark today while in the middle of my workout at the gym I thought "maybe I should check HLJ"; I'd been checking pretty much daily since Big In Japan listed the Jigen figure. I had checked Thursday night and didn't bother Friday night because...well it was Friday night (Sat Morning in Japan), not exactly prime time for listing new product preorders. Anyways HLJ listed the Jigen figure and both versions of the Creator X Creator Fujiko figures this morning. In fact the black variant wasn't even available yet when I checked but became available about 15 minutes later. Anyways couldn't post all this on my phone at the time, but here are the links:

Master Stars Jigen Figure (Still available): http://hlj.com/product/BNP36032/Fig
CxC Fujiko Pink (Still available): http://hlj.com/product/BNP36005-A/Fig

Also all of the others were available this morning but have since gone out of stock, still worth checking periodically as HLJ preorder products seem to come available again before release on many occasions:

Master Stars Lupin: http://hlj.com/product/BNP49897/Fig
CxC Lupin A: http://hlj.com/product/BNP49959-A/Fig
CxC Lupin B: http://hlj.com/product/BNP49959-B/Fig
Fujiko CxC Black: http://hlj.com/product/BNP36005-B/Fig

I'm really, really glad HLJ is stocking these, as they often pass on Lupin items. I don't like Big in Japan's limit of 1 piece per customer as I usually buy duplicates and paying shipping for a single inexpensive piece like these is silly, so I'm glad I can stick them in my HLJ private warehouse and ship together or with one of my Bandai or Arcadia Valks that are coming in Nov/Dec.

Out of curiosity, the Japanese Blu-ray for the first vol. of Blue Jacket comes with a booklet of sketches, as shown here, (http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B015WEE1S0/ref=s9_simh_gw_p74_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=AN1VRQENFRJN5&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=1NRZCRSNRMZCGZYFRGGG&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=263612849&pf_rd_i=desktop) right? Does anyone have more info on it? I've been debating with myself the whole day whether I want to buy it just for that and to throw in one more purchase to support it since it hasn't ranked on the top sales lists for anime.

Yes. I have it. It has quite a bit of artwork in it. Also has a commentary on episode 1 of  Kanichi Kurita (Lupin), Miyuki Sawashiro (Fujiko), and Yukikyo Fuji (Rebecca) and sounds pretty entertaining from what I've listened to so far. There also is a creditless version of the OP and ED themes on it as well. And if you do get it I think amazon jp has a slipcover or something like that that is exclusive to them.

I can post some photos of the art book if you like

For anyone considering the new figure series I highly recommend the Creator x Creator figures with one caveat; they are actually somewhat small for what you will likely pay (typically $30-40 shipped for the basic version and twice that for the variants). However the detail is very, very nice. By contrast I am actually disappointed with the Master Stars Piece figures. They are larger, in fact you get a figure similar in size to Dive's extremely nice Lupin figures, but I find the detail to be rather lacking when you view them up close. Especially in contrast to the CxC figures. I'll post some pics of both types later for anyone interested.

I'm getting lost in the wilderness that is all the different Lupin OSTs. Is there anything that's currently available and includes something sung by Yasuo Yamada?

I'm not the most knowledgeable on soundtracks, but I think the only cds that feature Yasuo Yamada singing are:
LUPIN THE REMASTER (http://vgmdb.net/album/47881)
Lupin the Third Tokyo Transit  (http://vgmdb.net/album/50328)
LUPIN the THIRD MUSIC TREASURES (http://vgmdb.net/album/56509) <-- This one contains the Tokyo Transit cd.
LUPIN THE THIRD Special Chronicle 40th Anniversary LUPIN THE BEST (http://vgmdb.net/album/37986) <-- This one only contains one song (Memory of Smile).

Most of Tokyo Transit is Yasuo Yamada monologuing, but three of the tracks are him singing.
The only one readily available I think is LUPIN the THIRD MUSIC TREASURES (http://shop.columbia.jp/goods/?page=D6190).

^Correction, the LUPIN THE THIRD Special Chronicle 40th Anniversary LUPIN THE BEST album can be found for a decent price on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Lupin-Best/dp/B000M2EABQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1506835176&sr=1-1&keywords=Lupin+the+Best (https://www.amazon.com/Lupin-Best/dp/B000M2EABQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1506835176&sr=1-1&keywords=Lupin+the+Best)

LUPIN THE REMASTER (http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%AB%E3%83%91%E3%83%B3%E4%B8%89%E4%B8%96-%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AD%E3%83%8B%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AB-BOX-LUPIN-REMASTER/dp/B0001DD0SA) requires finding the leprechauns' pot of gold to be able to buy it.

Someone has put up samples (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn9pTnkiaWg&) of the Italian Blue Jacket soundtrack. I listened out of curiosity, but I was immediately so taken in that I'm definitely going to buy that when it comes out next week. I love that first song with vocals, and the western theme they gave Jigen is really nice.

It's been quickly taken down, sadly. :( I didn't have the time to listen to it. But I'm happy to know the italian composer did a good job. :)

It seems the uploader took it down and then put it immediately back up again, perhaps to break the link and stop the Lupin Central Tumblr account from posting their video, as they did yesterday. This Tumblr (http://lemitichecitazionidilupiniii.tumblr.com/) should have it.

For fans impatient for a new Goemon figure, today's (https://twitter.com/lupinIII_4th/status/732737710465683458) your day.  8)

Edit: Also, I think this is a new (https://twitter.com/lupinIII_4th/status/729966361171087360) Fujiko figure.

Edit 2: Oh, and another (https://twitter.com/lupinIII_4th/status/733100046388977664) risque Fujiko figure.

Edit 3: Er, this might be the same Jigen figure a few posts above me, but with a cigarette (https://twitter.com/lupinIII_4th/status/733930608217427968).  :-[

My SH arts Bandai figures showed up today, so I dragged out the old Revoltech figures for scale comparison:

So yeah, while the props work (more or less), the figures are all an inch taller than the Revoltech. Looks like I'll have to pick up those crazy expensive Zenigata and Jigen figures.

Also, via @telecom_anime, @kiyamahisatake, and @hobby_maniax, Zenigata toy and Jigen bust (https://twitter.com/hobby_maniax/status/773424500121690112). Has anyone found a good place to get the Figuarts Jigen & Zenigata figures for a reasonable price? Really want to get them but everywhere I look they are so expensive!

They're pricey everywhere but not as much as say BBTS.

Fujiko+Rebecca crane figures (http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/11/10/get-your-hands-on-lupins-leading-ladies-with-two-new-arcade-prize-figures).

Edit: Lupin and Rebecca wedding crane figures (http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/11/22-2/lupin-and-rebecca-reunited-in-lupin-iii-wedding-day-crane-prizes).

Edit 2: Rebecca figure with a sweater and cap (https://twitter.com/lupin_anime/status/801221365365780480).

Edit 3: If you're still into that Barbie and Ken thing, then you're further in luck w/ Rebecca and Lupin (https://twitter.com/lupin_anime/status/809171285825748992) wedding figures.

Edit 4: Anyone want to know what it'd be like to be in Zenigata's shoes (https://twitter.com/bp_zoukei/status/822316914684796933)?

Edit 5: NSFW Fujiko bust (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2017-02-22/lupin-iii-fujiko-bares-all-to-recreate-anime-opening/.112526).

Edit 6: Again, NSFW, but to paraphrase that '83 Golgo movie, Fujiko can pull my trigger (https://twitter.com/lupin_anime/status/853805351468236800) any day.  ::)

I really like the Goemon figure. The others less impressive to me than their previous CxC versions, they look a bit too cartoony facially, but maybe the sculpts will improve by release. But let's be honest, I'm buying them all anyways, lol. Wonder what is up with the magic show theme for Fujiko and Lupin...given the new show's emphasis on tech I'd expect cellphones or tablets as props instead.

I have meant to post for a while that's a nice collection dude. I see you have the chess set also...super envious of that one especially, lol. I was completely out of following anime or collectibles when that released and have been hoping for a reissue or a new version for a while now. I see you also snagged the Goemon film acrylic art. Any chance you have duplicates and want to sell or trade? Shoot me a PM if so.

More pics of the new figures here. Look much better than the photos at the first link (at least on my phone):

Looks like Jigen is picking his nose from the angles they show his CxC figure, lol. Really like the Zenigata MSP figure. Jigen, Lupin, and Zenigata all smoking in their MSP figures...haha only in Japan, lol.
