While this game does have puzzles for you to solve, its main purpose seems to be to act as an interactive encyclopedia for the film. You are a tourist wandering around Cagliostro seeing the sites and gathering information about Lupin's exploits in Cagliostro. A map contains several boxes that can be stamped by solving various puzzles or answering questions correctly. Once all the boxes have been stamped, you may enter the castle itself.

This is an interactive manga issued by D2Manga and Daiki. The English language menu is accessed by choosing a chapter to play and then entering the options screen. You get to view four "movies" of Monkey Punch mangas: "I Can't Stand It", "Tooth for a Tooth", "Hold Up", and "180 Lupins". The controller allows you to pause, fast forward and rewind through each screen of the "movie". Its really basic and totals about 20 - 30 minutes long. You can save the chapters and such on your memory card.

Punch the Monkey follows the mold of other rhythm action games such as Dance Dance Revolution and Bust A Groove. All of the music in the game comes from the three CDs bearing the name Punch the Monkey. These CDs contain remixes of Lupin theme and background songs from various artists. Boasting Guncon and analog controller support, Punch the Monkey is an addicting game with loads of replay value. The normal game contains seven levels with each level having four difficulty levels: "Easy", "Normal", "Hard", and "Blind".
