Oh and this morning I watched ep.12-A Present for the President, SO funny and Lupin throws in a few words in French, I couldn't be any happier, n'est-ce pas?

Don't Lupin, Goemon, and Jigen sing part of the Marseillaise, too?

Hearing Maria's theme from Crisis in Tokyo and Ellen's from Island of Assassins in the Lupin vs. Conan special was pretty jarring. oO; But I guess it makes sense since it's the--what is it, 10th anniversary of Crisis in Tokyo? XD

Also, I'm now convinced that Jigen_knows_EVERYONE.

Really?  We're hear both of their themes?!  That's cool but kinda odd...

It's sort of like in GvR where Yasuo is always listening to the opening of Cagliostro.

Of course Jigen knows EVERYONE!  XD

If Zenigata is the Inspector of Awesomesauce Jigen has to be the master of info.

I mean, what else is Jigen supposed to do while Lupin chases tail?  I guess he's penpals with everyone and goes in chatrooms!     (I kid...I kid.)

Man, I can't wait until LvC is subbed...I'm eagerly expecting it!  ^_____^

Yeah, I forgot to mention how much I liked that gag.  That's a good point.  I once heard a theory that if they weren't on opposite sides of the law, Lupin and Zenigata would be an unbeatable criminal team.

I'm waiting for that to happen. XD It won't, but..they should be. And Zenigata already is halfway there--by helping/saving Lupin, sometimes shielding him from the law, or letting him go. Not to mention he's broken the law so much it's almost obscene. XD

He would have to get his info from somewhere. XD I wouldn't put it beyond him that he goes in chatrooms. I'd imagine he travels in a lot of circles--all around the world, and probably across dimensions. XD

Firstly, ZOMBIES! Everyone knows zombies automatically make everything effin' brilliant, and Jigen and Goemon fleeing from them, Holy Grail style, was top fun.

What else...

Cornelia. A big ol' 'Sue? Only one way to find out:

1. Lavender of hair (check!)
ii. Lavender of eye (check!)
c. Amnesiac (check!)
4. *~TRaGic~* past (check!)
iv. In love with the main character (check!)
f. Generally a bit of a simp (check!)

And her plus points:

1. Technically a zombie. Result. (Actually, I felt sorry for the poor lamb. Wouldn't fancy a snog off her at the end, though.)

Favourite bits include !Young Lupin! (nice medallion you've got there, chum), Jigen's rousing 'Being a man means you sometimes have to fight even when you know you'll lose' before ploughing into a zombie horde, Fujiko's pithy response ('How come men try to look cool like that?'), and Zenigata's fantasy cockroaches.

Here's a puzzler, though - Jigen not only endures a panicky hug from Fujiko but actually goes on to comment 'That doesn't feel too bad, but now's not the time'. In the dubbed version Jigen says - ironically, of course - 'Nice to see you too; now just calm down, alright?').

To cut a long story short, it seems to me that Jigen (and Goemon) don't have the same venomous antipathy toward Fujiko (other than warning Lupin how crafty she is) in the subbed version. Admittedly, I haven't seen that many dubs (four, to be exact), but has anyone else noticed this?

Anyway, this was a more than decent double-helping of Lupin and The Gang. Quality.

Try not to laugh when Lupin is in the Himalayas bugging that poor snowman! Plus it shows that Jigen and Goemon are not always indifferent to women.
And Fujiko gets punished in the end without the guys doing anything! Love how she spots Zenigata in a second! lol

This is one of my favorite two-parters. We get a great look at Lupin's backstory and the character development here is really fantastic.

"For Larva or Money" XD Zenigata's diet changes from ramen to live insects! Mm...And there was the whole racial issue--one thing I love about Lupin is that from time to time it remarks on social inequality.

Last thing I watched was "Bye Bye Liberty Crisis."

It was...interesting.  I'm SERIOUSLY wondering of the Three Masons were actually supposed to be a play on the Free Masons.  The subtitles on the copy I watched were from the official Manga Entertainment DVD (yes, apparently this special was dubbed back in 1996...and even though the copy I got SAID it had a dual language track I couldn't figure out how to access the English version) were okay for the most part.  However, every once in a while a word would be repeated or something would be misspelled.

I do wonder though...it's a Red Jacket special but the art is REMARKABLY reminiscent of Pink Jacket (to me anyway).  The special was done in 1989 though, so I guess that was just the style they were used to drawing in at the time.  But everyone's faces were enlongated and Fujiko was very Pink Jacket-esque looking.

That kid Michael scared me.     I think it was the fact that his head is like, twice the size of his body or something.

I DID really like Goemon like Isabelle though...I thought it was very sweet.  Poor guy got hit on and then when they're in the cabin she just has to ask him if he's coming to bed with her.     So what does he do?  He starts letting out his "aggression" with his sword.

Yeah he does.  He gets REALLY jealous whenever Lupin tries to hit on her and when Lupin is carrying her away (while she's naked because they both fell into a river and he was hanging their clothes up to dry when the building they were in was blown up) Goemon just runs by, grabs her, and yells something like, "I'M supposed to protect her not YOU!" and is all insanely jealous.  XD  It's cute though.

I've seen that one before, but I got the RAW version of it. It was interesting to watch, but I wish I knew what was going on. I can never find it w/ subtitles online.

I don't know if this was originally broadcasted on a special night but this is huge, they've definitely put a lot of work in this episode!

I really don't know, I watched it off one of my red jacket box set, but it HAS to exist somewhere else because I remember seeing some clips in a AMV on youtube with English subs. Plus it's by Miyazaki so there has to be a big interest!
