I watched all the TV specials that exist before I watched Lupin.vs.Conan, so LupinvsConan special would be the last one I watched.

Wow, congratulations! ^^ That's over 40 years of Lupin! Did you watch them gradually or pull a marathon over several days? XD

Some time ago i watched Dragon of Doom and i have a lot to say about that special, both pros and cons.
It has a lot of memorable scenes in my opinion, like the casino costume party scene (Lupin dressed up as a vampire = SUPER CUTE! ;D), Lupin searching for the dragon inside the Titanic (especially the moment near the scene's end where Lupin's diving suit broke and he got super-skinny because of the water pressure :D) and Lupin & co escaping from Zenigata with a duck-shaped boat.

Also, I noticed that Lupin's voice sounds a little more dull (but i can't blame Yasuo Yamada for that; he suffered of medical problems at the time of recording, so there wasn't much they could do about it).
Despite the minor flaws, this counts as one of my favorite specials. Cheers to director Masaharu Okuwaki for that. ;D

Er...Sorry I think there has been some misunderstanding from me. I meant I watched all TV Specials ONLY. I watched all Lupin animated movies(except Babylon Gold), most episodes of 1st series, 10 episodes 2nd series, and 1 episode of 3rd series, and 3 OVAs(Fuma, Pycal, GvsR). I know I should really watch all tv episodes, but then it's not easy for me. And TV Specials and movies are my favorite parts of the Lupin Franchise.

I love that special, which is originally titled "Zantetsuken is on fire!!!" which is cooler title. It was the first good TV Special in a series of excellent ones that came afterward. The previous ones were so bad or mediocre at best that I thank God TMS decided to continue air TV Specials even after the first five specials sucked(in my opinion, stank). The most memorable scene for me was the fun opening sequence with Lupin trio outrunning all the ninjas. And I also liked how the staff worked meticulously on the Dragon salvage sequence.

Though Dragon of Doom, like all the Lupin specials, are fun, I'm not sure if it's just me but this had somewhat weak writing in the English dub. "Show me your tiny, powerful dragon." oO;;; Right. "I'm sure it (the Titanic) was full of rich people." The Funimation writers are usually pretty witty, but I don't know what happened with Dragon of Doom.

I definitely agree Dragon of Doom english dubtitles were rather weak or at times cheesy. Anyhow, compared to original japanese lines, the dubtitle sucked.

Just finished watching Bye Bye Liberty Crisis and i have some mixed opinions about it, mostly concerning the weirdness of the special.

The animation was a lil' so-so scenario; it nearly resembles the original manga's drawing style at first, but it becomes an unnecessary rave of flashing colors at some points.
Seriously, it even gave me a migraine after watching it. (@_@)
The story gets pretty basic from the start, but soon spirals into a crazy over-the-top sci-fi/paranormal mess (à la Secret of Mamo).
To shed some more light on the above statement:

What's my opinion about this one? Well, after watching it, i felt a little unsatisfactory and got a bit of a headache and blurred vision. Not recommended for hardcore fans and/or epileptic patients.

I think i'm gonna lay down for a while now...

I saw Bye-Bye Liberty Crisis before it was taken off of YouTube and that was the most impressive insane-cult treatment of all of the insane cults in Lupin. Some of the others are twisted in a less pronounced way (like in Farewell to Nostradamus). This time the cult was frighteningly sick so as to make someone uncomfortable. It was very interesting to see Lupin dive into horror, especially after some of the disappointing fake and/or campy ghosts in the Pink jacket Series. Not that this one had ghosts, but a lot of the scenes are nightmare-inducing

It was intense. ^^ I recommend it for the few supernatural-loving Lupin fans. ^_^

I recently re-watched "Christmas At Tiffany's." The first thing that struck me was how Fujiko very cleverly and underhandedly

Though it would've been fun to see Lupin and Jigen fishing for the entire episode, it's interesting that Fujiko gets them moving again and ends their inertia. : )

The second thing was Zenigata's sad life.

Reading the recent comments about Bye-bye Liberty Crisis: I have this weird soft spot in my heart for that special. I too sense a certain similarity of vibe with Mamo--not only in the gradual increase of freakiness in the plot, but also something about the art/animation style that I can't quite put my finger on. I guess the freaky-cult plot and general quirkiness is something people will either love or hate; I loved it. My only quibble with it is that I miss the brainy, high-energy aspects of the Lupin personality from this one. Maybe understandably given the plot, he's all dispirited and dyspeptic for a good ways into the story; but I don't see the reason why he doesn't really show his brainpower until

I have picked up here and there that some people aren't quite sure what to make of the genius kid, Michael. It took me awhile to warm up to him, but once he started showing some genuine kidlike behaviors I began to really get him. And
I did find the pathos of
(click to show/hide)
surprisingly poignant and subtly done.

Last thing watched: hauled out Missed by a Dollar for the bazillionth time, got about halfway through before the sleepies overtook me. Like just about all the specials, it has its weak points (I still have a love/hate relationship with the art style--I get that they were going for a sort of Roy Lichtenstein comic-booky pop-art look, and when I think of it that way it mostly works for me, but it's simply not my favorite, and a lot of the incidental characters are pretty slipshod-looking). But I just find the overall tone, plot, and vibe of this special makes it one of my favorite go-to Lupin-thangs when I need a pick-me-up. Especially for the comeraderie between Lupin and Jigen--they just seem to be having such a damn fun time gallivanting around New York, doing the insane-driving thing across Central Park, giving each other shit while they're staking out and then breaking into the bank, etc. etc. etc. And damn, love that that version of the opening theme, and the sequencing of the opening animation to it.

Finally watched Alcatraz Connection, and i gotta say i liked it!

I really dug the slick opening theme (sung by Akiko, if memory serves me right) and the plot and humor kept me glued to the screen.

One of my favorite scenes was when Lupin was getting tortured by that freaky chinese guy, but he survives every torture in a smart way. ;D

What i did notice is the action being a bit cartoonier than the perceding specials (ie. the ones licensed by Funimation), especially at the beginning, where the action was nearly as fast-paced (but not as chaotic) as "Dead Leaves" (A 2004 OVA by Production I.G.). I have nothing against it, on the contrary, i got a kick out of that. ;)

This one counts as my top favorite, making Dragon of Doom my second favorite.

The Wind Is Hot in Morocco (ep.30) : What Lupin and Zenigata's relationship is all about.
I believe this is the only episode out of the 155 that doesn't include Goemon.
