why two theatrical features amongst them?
Because they simply bought everything Lupin that was made between 1993 and 2000. Nostradamus was made in 1995 and Dead or Alive in 1996.

But why not start at the beginning with Bye Bye Liberty Crisis? I won't lose sleep over this but too many Lupin bits still don't have an official release, it seems so random and that pisses me off! I'm complaining way too much!  ;)

I guess it was because they wanted the newest Animation of Lupin available. They released their first Lupin Special in Early 2002, meaning they got the rights in 2001 (Likely before the 2001 Special even aired). So they newest animation that was available to them would be 2000. They bought the rights to Lupin Movies in bulk, 10 at once. I guess it could stand to reason that they just worked 10 Features back from 2000.

Just finished up "The Secret of Mamo" for the first time in a while.
I had forgotten how good this movie is.  I loved almost every minute of it.  Although as I was watching it, I noticed that the dubbing wasn't all that great, until about halfway through.  There were really awkward pauses ("That's what...they all say."  "Yeah, well...you sure do fake it pretty good.") but, those seemed to lessen as it went on.
The Geneon cast proved here that they're still my favorite English Lupin group.  I especially liked Mamo's deep, sinister voice.  Helped to make him much more menacing than he looked.

EDIT: Hey, 22 pages!  I don't think I've ever had a topic go this long on any forum I've ever been on.

Recently went and watched the first episode of the second, "red jacket" series again. It was a great introduction to all of the characters, I thought!

That's the third thing I ever saw, after Cagliostro and Crisis in Tokyo and oddly enough, there's a connection between Tokyo and this episode, it sorta explains why Jigen is so afraid of going to the dentist! ;)
