This game for the Japanese only NEC PC-8801 platform is an RPG in the vein of Bard's Tale, Wizardry, and other similar offerings of the time. There is at least one platform action sequence recreating the famous rooftop leaps Lupin made in the film. Rather than level grinding for experience, the game appears to emphasize the gathering of information to complete your quest. Each character has unique strengths and weaknesses, and battles are truly won only if you manage to keep the enemy alive and acquire their knowledge.

The most interesting tidbit about this game it the name of the programmer, Yamada Yasuo. No one is sure if this is the iconic voice actor; Yamada was known for being fond of PCs. Unfortunately, we will likely never know if Yamada left his mark on the franchise with more than just his voice.

More information and screenshots can be seen on the Japanese language site Typer's Lupin the Third Search Team.
